Easy Mains Switch
Introduction
This project came about because I wanted to switch a 1000 VA toroidal transformer, but my favourite mains switch is only a 3 amp single pole item. This circuit allows the low current switch to switch up to 12 amps of load (depending on the relays chosen) and also isolate both live and neutral. The relays are just standard FRM-1 pinout items with mains rated coil and SPCO contacts. I use Tyco/Schrack part RTB14730 which has a 230 V coil.
